I made this little quilt for my nephew whose second birthday is coming up. I'm not sure why I never made him one before... My sister requested that I make him something he can snuggle with because he's always stealing blankets from his brother and sister to take on car rides. I'm sure he will outgrow this quilt in no time, but for now it will cover him up, yet still be small enough to tote around I think...
I found this wonderfully soft and cool (to the touch) green cotton at a thrift store up in Vermont last weekend. (did I mention Justin and I finally went away for a few days? We spent two full days at the Shelburne Museum and it was incredible. I'll have more to say on that in a few days when I get my film processed). I paired the green with a soft aqua gingham because I thought it would lend a slightly feminine touch. I like kids things that are not overly one gender or another. I feel like this could easily be for a girl or a boy.
I've been slowly building a collection of quilts that I am planning on releasing this fall. I have five started and in different stages. I love each of them so much already that I am not allowing myself to back any of them yet, as I know once I do, it will just end up on my bed. Sometimes I can't help myself.
I have started a small collection of Little Quilts as well. I plan on releasing the Little Quilts in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
Ashley I love it! Good job! you inspire me to hem my curtains today.
Rhea and I had a little talk today about doing a week day visit.
