Wow, four posts in four days! I want to think I'm doing really good with my blogging (a new years resolution) and I suppose technically I am, but really I just had so much I wanted to say, and I couldn't get myself to blog that much all in one day. But this is better anyway, right?
Well, I wanted to share a little bit about my New Year's. My sister and her husband had to work on New Year's Eve (they do catering) so Justin and I jumped at the opportunity to have my niece Amelia come stay with us again. She's the cutest! And she got to stay for four days! And our friend's Bill and Jessica came to stay with their baby Lincoln (who is also insanely adorable). Though it was incredibly freezing outside and we had to stay in most of the visit, it was a lot of fun. I didn't take many photos, and most of the ones I did take are really blurry, but here's a couple that I took of Amelia on her last night here, after everyone else left, when we finally got some quality Auntie Ashley/Amelia hang out time. I couldn't help myself because the colors were so beautiful. Look at how serious she is!
And here's one where she's showing me her teeth (so cute!!):
Yes... anyways. I also wanted to let everyone know that, although I had planned on making the first official shop post of the new year today, I didn't actually get any new animals completed yet (animals that aren't custom orders, that is). But I am working on some good ones that I plan on posting next week. I'll have to let you know after the weekend when I'll be putting them up in the shop. I'm working with the vintage wintery fabrics I was using before Christmas some more as well as some hand printed fabric I bought on Etsy made by Danielle Smeets in Western Australia. Her materials and designs are really beautiful. I am really excited about searching out more hand printed materials for animals (ideally I would love to design and print my own fabrics at some point... I'll have to re-learn how to screen print first, but I think that could make for a whole new line of animals. This is actually one of the things on my New Year projects list.)
Well, it's a bit late in the morning now, so I better go have some breakfast and get to work. Justin and I are going out to his parents house tomorrow to have a late Christmas weekend with them. I have a big family to visit during the holidays so it's really nice that we can plan our Durand Family Christmas after all the other chaos is over - and we then have plenty of time to actually relax and visit and eat and play games all weekend (along with Justin's brother and sister-in-law, who happen to also be really good friends of ours, so it's even better!). I'm looking forward to it!
Have a wonderful day!
(Oh yes, P.S., Justin finally has some drawings and prints for sale in his Etsy Shop! This was a long time coming and I'm excited about seeing something up! A more proper post about how amazing I think he and his work is will come soon, I just wanted to quickly add a link right now. Bye!)
